General News: Bits & Pieces of Village Business

December 19, 2006

Eight property owners showed up on Grievance Day in November to ask that their property assessments be lowered. Several were successful, including two old houses that are in the process of a gut renovation.

Unsuccessful in its appeal for a lower assessment was the Cornwall Yacht Club, which sought to reduce its assessment of $1,295,600 to $200,000. Mayor Moulton said that the club, whose appeal to the town was also denied, will be pursuing a court case.
