General News: DeCicco Family Markets coming to Cornwall

September 26, 2012

DeCicco Family Markets, a second generation grocery chain with eight locations in Westchester and Putnam Counties and two more under construction in Harrison and Armonk, will open their 11th store in the Cornwall Plaza, which now holds Cornwall Farms.

DeCicco’s accounting department confirmed the rumor going around Cornwall this week that the DeCicco family is opening the store. The Cornwall store will be the 11th for the family and opened by the first generation of DeCicco’s.  The second generation of DeCicco’s, including John Sr.’s and Joseph Sr.’s sons, expanded the business in 2006 when the sixth store was opened in Brewster and the first generation of the family has not opened a new store in some time.

DeCicco stores offer traditional grocery store provisions, gourmet italian food and a thriving catering service combined with the latest in organic and natural foods, sushi, brick oven pizza, artisan breads and a unique beer collection.

About DeCicco Family Markets

DeCicco Family Markets was founded in 1972 by John, Joe and Frank DeCicco. It began as a small storefront in the Bronx, offering a choice of high quality food to its growing array of customers. For over 30 years, DeCicco Family Markets has a proud history of bringing the largest selection of high quality food available to customers with a friendly, personal touch. It is this simple but unwavering mentality that has enabled the company to expand throughout Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. The family operates eight stores in the following locations: Ardsley, Brewster, Chester Heights, Cross River, Jefferson Valley, New City, Pelham and Scarsdale. The company is also involved in a number of civic and community-related events, regularly working with schools, Little Leagues, churches and Chambers of Commerce groups.
