General News: Job Search Self-Help Tools

News from the Cornwall Public Library
Two extremely useful tools for individuals in the throes of a job search are available through Cornwall Public Library’s website: JobNow and LearningExpress Library.
JobNow provides expert resume assistance, templates and tips; live interview coaching plus tips and resources; tips and resources to help start your job search; and build academic skills with live tutoring, test preparation, and an online writing lab. JobNow Coaches are available: Sat - Sun 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM EST and Mon - Fri 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM EST. JobNow can be accessed from the Library’s home page – just look for the JobNow logo and click through.
LearningExpress Library has practice exams based on official tests that will help you improve your scores on academic, civil service, military, and professional licensing and certification exams. To access LearningExpress Library go to Cornwall Library’s home page, click on databases on the left side, click on general, and scroll down to LearningExpress Library (7th database listed).
“We are hoping these tools will provide job seekers with the help they need to produce a resume that gets them an interview and provides guidance how to best approach and execute the interview toward a positive end,” said Karen LaRocca-Fels, Cornwall Public Library Director. “It continues to be our goal to provide patrons with the resources they need toward employment and life success.” The Library would like your feedback regarding the usefulness of JobNow and LearningExpress Library.
