General News: Fatal Crash in Newburgh Saturday

Two brothers were killed in a car crash that occurred at Leroy Pl. and Forsyth Pl. in the city of Newburgh early Saturday July 28, 2012. At approximately 5:01am the City of Newburgh Police responded to several calls of a motor vehicle accident involving a 2003 BMW 745 that was off the roadway and struck a tree. Three parked vehicles were damaged by impact. Portions of the debris were on fire and quickly extinguished by the City of Newburgh Fire Department.
Police declared the 26-year-old driver Jorge Alberto Ayala deceased at the scene. Ayala's brother, 18 year old Soniel Alberto Ayala, was taken to St. Lukes Emergency Room by Mobile Life Ambulance where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The speed limit on Leroy Pl. is 30mph. Speed is believed to be the contributing factor.
