The 1st Annual Not Just Business Expo was held at the New York Military Academy on Saturday, drawing people from throughout the community to meet local business owners and to see their children perform.
Greater Cornwall Chamber of Commerce president Helen Bunt said she was happy with the turnout for the event, which chamber members hope to build into a tradition. About twenty local businesses introduced their goods and services to the community, including newcomer Edgwick Farm, which putting the final touches on a micro dairy and creamery that makes fresh farmstead cheese from their own pastured goats on Angola Road. Newcomer Hudson Street Café was also on hand with samples of a tasty bean soup.
Many of the visitors to the NYMA gymnasium came to see their own children either in the fashion show put on by Madison Avenue Fine Children’s Clothing or in the gymnastic stunts of Gym Kids and the choreographed numbers of Dance Design School.
Overall, an impressive first step by the Chamber, which is trying to raise awareness of local businesses in the community.
