Cornwall Youth Soccer Results Weekend of September 18

Grade 2-3 Division


Mustangs 0, Lions 0
The Mighty Mustangs played to a tough tie against the fierce Lions on Saturday. Outstanding play on defense was shown by Nate "the Great" Cashara, Jaiden "Nas-Car" Rabatin and Elle "Vator" Burich! On Offense, Lars "the Bulldozer" Fosstveit and Ryan "the Ripper" Krafft teamed up to make some outstanding close call plays. Great game by both teams!

Panthers 3, Pumas 1
The Panthers won their second straight game. Goal scoring for the season is lead by Christina Coppola and Jonathan Gagnon with 2 goals each. Donovan Fay,, Daniel Mulligan and Philip Klim each had one goal. Nicolas Galeas and Allison Reel played goal keeper defensively.

Cheetahs 1, Jaguars 0
The Cheetahs sped ahead of the Jaguars this week, 1-0. Kevin Latimer scored! Jimmy O'Neill, Christina Alfieri, Eli Watson, and Mackenzie Robles also played great as did the whole team!

Tigers 3, Rams 0
The Tigers played a great game. There were two speed driven goals scored by Joshua Caufaglione, and a great shot by Kyle LaGuardia. Ava Desharnais made some great stops in goal as well as some great running throws back to her teammates. Offensively, smooth dribbles and fast feet by Leland Janus and Marie Freeman helped the Tigers move the ball into scoring position.


Grade 4 Division


Hawks 3, Cardinals 3
The Hawks and the Cardinals played to a 3-3 tie in a great game this past Saturday. Cardinals Cameron Bachmann, Joseph Giardina and Emmett Munterich all had goals in this exciting matchup. Jeremy Small-Hawks and Michael Devogel showed great skill in the field. For the Hawks, Joseph Maddalena scored twice with assists from Megan Sanchez. Blaine Doyle had another great shot that resulted in a goal for the Hawks. Erin Beckvermit played great defense and Gannon Yarmus had an all around terrific game.

Falcons 3, Jays 0
The FALCONS offense displayed great team-work and passing resulting in goals by Will Webber, David Russell, and Chris DiMedio. Aidan Janus showed superb midfield defense and Briana Kearney made a super-save at goal. The FALCONS were flying high in their win over the Jays!

Owls 3, Eagles 0
The Owls did a great job playing as a team. Sean Mosca, Molly Fowler and Tommy Doyle each scored a goal against the Eagles. Jenna Macleod, Robbie Hess, Ryan Hogan and Dante Santoro were aggressive and passed very well. Billy Ormiston played solid defense and Morgan Hurst had several saves in goal.


Grade 5-6 Division

Comets 5, Flames 0
The Comets beat the Flames 5-0. The offense was powered by 3 goals from Cassidy Brusseler and 2 goals from Madison Mozgiel. Sarah Bale made many great stops in goal. Emma Barrett and Nicky Gray were terrific on defense.

The Flames played well against a strong Comets defense. Great play in goal from
Alexis Zamparelli and Eileen Musico. We received strong defense from Sara Smith and Samantha Russell. The Flames tenacious offence was led by Sara Mintz, Sidney Natkiel & Amanda Masterson.

Heat 2, Galaxy 6
Alexa Ziler had a great game and scored the Heat’s 2 goals, Sarah Carpenter played excellent defense, Alexandra Fitzgerald was superb on offense and had some nice shots on goal, and Andrea Stambaugh demonstrated awesome teamwork throughout the game.

Rowdies 4, Cosmos 1
It was a rough start for the Cosmos, with two early goals by the Rowdies, and the Cosmos only tally was by Will Corby. The Cosmos had several scoring opportunities by Lucas Arora, Emil Vyzkocil, Eddie Rodd and James McDonnell. The Cosmos played well defensively with strong efforts from Sam Delacruz, David Haring and Aidan Burns. Tommy Zaharek made several key stops in goal.

Ryan Trieste scored two goals for the Rowdies. Dalton Weis (one goal) and Cole Neville also provided steady offense by constantly pressuring and moving the ball up field. Paul Hudson and Nick Gallo were both very strong in goal and Nick Gallo added a goal on offense for good measure as well. Jackson Fedro and John Cotter shined on defense in that they gave it their all and constantly cleared the ball and provided great interference in not allowing the Cosmos to penetrate and score.

Cosmos 1, Arrows 0
In the second game of the double header, Hunter Blackman had the lone goal of the match placing the ball in the right upper corner with a long distance shot. Strong efforts were put in by Timothy Melvin and Tim Fenton at mid field. Isiah Rafos posted the first shutout of the year with a strong performance in goal. Will Corby anchored the defense with strong defensive play.



Grade 7-10 Division

New Castle 3, Liverpool 0

Ave Carter held the line on defense, Larissa Ross pushed back many scoring attempts and Kaitlyn Pritchard tied opponents up at mid field. The effort of Liverpool was not reflected in the outcome as we lost 3-0.

Arsenal 1, Chelsea 2

Strong Goal keeping by Lauren Wheeler. Good defense led by Emily and Sarah Giardina. Strong offensive play by Samantha Fowler. A great game by the entire Arsenal Team!!

Mexico 4, Argentina 1

Mexico goals by Dan Storer (2), both assisted by Mike Scott, Mike Scott on a beautiful pass from Matt Wheeler and Scott Chatfield on a penalty kick. Great goal keeping by Roger Sinclair and great defense by Ty Malloy. Great all around game from Ian Ross, and Joe Korycki.

Argentina’s goal was scored by Andrew Stein, unassisted. Harry Hartnett was strong on offense, narrowly missing a few goals. On defense, Nelson Singh and Matt Shaw thwarted several scoring opportunities for Mexico and Will Pryor had some outstanding saves in goal.
