Here are just two examples of what you can take to school or work in a Bento box!

Are you sick of eating nachos and pizza in the cafeteria? I know I am! Plus, fast food is beginning to make me sick.

How could that stuff possibly be good for us? It's not! That's why I have a super fun and nutritious way to eat my lunch at school. It's called the Bento box and it allows me to bring my favorite foods to school every day without creating a big mess.

No matter what those commercials say, pre-packaged, processed foods have a negative impact not only on our bodies but on our environments, too. The processing of food allows most manufacturers to add sugars, salt and hydrogenated oils to their products. Also, most packaging hurts the environment. However, there is a way to fight unhealthy foods and child obesity. It's called eating healthy! I know that it sounds hard, but it isn't. The Bento box can help you do it right.

A Bento box is a plastic lunch box first created in Asia that holds four lidded containers where you can store you favorite foods without spilling them. Some of the things I like to bring to school in my Bento box are yogurt, celery with cream cheese, salad with dressing, and fresh and dried fruit. I like it a lot more than the pizza and fried food they serve in the cafeteria.

If you want to be really healthy, all you have to do is follow the food pyramid, which shows you what foods are good for you, like fruits and vegetables. Check out www.foodpyramid.com where you can even find a section all about the different food pyramids, from an asian diet to a vegan diet. Plus there is a section on what vitamins you should eat and other nutritional facts. See for yourself how cool it is to research healthy eating habits.

My Bento box comes with a recipe book that gives you various ideas on things to put in that are nutrition and delicious! This is a great substitute to eating cafeteria food. This doesn't mean you have to stop all together! Just eat it in moderation.  Check out more fun ideas at www.laptoplunches.com.

Be Cool, Be Unique and Eat Healthy.
