A fire has closed Brothers Barbeque, the rib joint on Route 32 in Cornwall that opened three years ago. The rear portion of the building where the smoker that cooks the meat served in the popular restaurant was completely destroyed in an early morning blaze on Tuesday.

The front portion of the restaurant escaped serious damage but the entire property was closed off to public access.

Comments:

That's too bad. They had some killer ribs. They should relocate to main street. That would save me the drive.

I am sorry for your loss. Please come look at the old OPA place accross the street from Village Pizza in Cornwall on Hudson. Your loyal customers will follow you.

Oh NOOO! Great guys and even better food! Terrible luck!Glad that no one was hurt.

But when the dust settles (or the ashes in this case) if they want to reopen, there are PLENTY of empty store fronts to choose from. And the Port of Spain -Opa -Maxes place would be a great choice. Good for the village too.
Good luck guys and hope to see you back in biz real soon!

Figures - one of the lone successful businesses in Cornwall. I hope they can recover from this! (And yes, the food is delicious!)

Gavin and Family: we are so sorry for your loss - what a tragic event. Your talent in this business should survive - and I agree with everyone above about moving to Hudson Street - directly across from Storm King Adventure Tours! Everyone comes back from kayaking hungry!
