General News: Pass the Peas Fundraising Dinner

Don't cook this Sunday, but come on down to the Cornwall Community Cooperative's Pass the Peas fundraising dinner at Hudson Street Café in Cornwall-on-Hudson this Sunday evening.
Pass the Peas (and the Hat!) Fundraising Dinner will include a four-course meal featuring local foods prepared by chef/owner Donna Hammond, who is donating her time and facility for the cause. Co-op Board members will serve guests and will donate all of their tips. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Co-op.
There will be two seatings available for the event: 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children under 12 and include a variety of appetizers, soup or salad, a beef, chicken or vegetarian entrée, dessert, coffee, tea and soft drinks. Local wine and beer will be available for tastings and purchase. Many of the ingredients used to prepare the gourmet meal will be available for purchase at the Co-op.
“We hope to raise enough money from this fundraiser to purchase a much-needed walk-in refrigerator for the Co-op,” said Lucinda Poindexter, the Co-op’s Executive Director. “With summer right around the corner and our membership growing steadily, we need a reliable refrigeration system that will provide storage for our retail outlet and the farmstand on Bridge Street in Cornwall that we plan to re-open in late Spring.”

The Cornwall Community Co-op (Co-op) is a community-based organization dedicated to bringing a source of healthy, fresh, and local food to Cornwall and the surrounding communities. The Co-op believes it is important to support and promote the local farmers who make this possible. The Co-op’s retail market is located at 208 Hudson Street in Cornwall-on-Hudson and is open from Thursday-Saturday.
