General News: Police Investigate Village Burglary

June 11, 2009

Cornwall-on-Hudson police are investigating a recent burglary at a residence on Grandview Avenue in the Cliffside Park section of the village.

Police chief Charles Williams says that the burglary occurred sometime between June 3 and 7, when it was reported to police.  Williams is not saying what was taken in the break-in because it may be pivotal to solving the case.

The last break-in at a house in Cornwall-on-Hudson was reported to police in July of 2006.  A suspect was arrested in that case.

Williams asks anyone who has any information related to the case, to contact him at 534-4200 x321 or [email protected].

Comments:

Even in jest, you should not wish the atrocity of waterboarding on anyone. Due process must and will be served on this individual, or individuals. Please don't go to this ugly place.

Hey Rick! Lighten up! That's the trouble with libs, no sense of humor, always have to be PC. Your guy's in the White House now, so let it go.

It's humor...until it isn't. I'm not a big team sport oriented person, so the idea of "my guy" doesn't really cut it. What does matter is thinking and meaning, and not letting EVERYTHING slide into the stew of "whatever".

Thank you, Rick, for exhibiting the kind of professionalism that earned you our vote.
I am surprised at the anger I read in the other two comments. Who knows what could be going on in any "little punks" life...maybe a mother or friend dying of cancer, etc. Maybe some "little punks" do not have the advantage of the kind of upbringing that I had.
I like to understand and give the benefit of the doubt before judging.
As residents of Cliffside Park,(my husband and I) a few of us are discussing having a meeting to discuss organizing a neighborhood watch.
It is a shame that the new owners of the home, having moved in from the city, had to experience this in our beautiful village.
Let's all work together to keep our village the beautiful, serene village it is and if something negative happens, think solution rather than "pollution."
