The sun shone down on the 12th annual Riverfest held on Saturday at Donahue Memorial Park in Cornwall-on-Hudson as hundreds of people came out to enjoy the beauty of the riverfront and the music of a half dozen bands.

Against the backdrop of the Hudson, children played with hula hoops or went “fishing” while the adults strolled through the vendors booths or sampled some of the delicious food for sale.

The red-sailed Woody Guthrie returned to Riverfest this year, offering free rides on the Hudson to a long list of eager passengers. Under the tent, the entertainment ran from rock to reggae and people could relax, put their feet up and soak up a good time.

Wynn Gold, the coordinator of the committee that puts on the free event every year, noted that this year’s festivities under the blue skies was “fantastic,” an observation undoubtedly shared by those who made it down to Riverfest.

Comments:

Congratulations and thanks to Wynn Gold and all the Riverfest team on another great event. Best in the three years we've been here.

Riverfest is one of the many things, like the 4th of July celebration and Bandstand concerts, which stand as evidence of the potential for community here which Hudson himself foretold four centuries ago.

But Riverfest, in particular, brings us to the river's edge, where we can appreciate how very fortunate we are to have such a beautiful setting to enjoy.

Thanks again.

I would like to say how Thankful I am to live in Cornwall On Hudson.
I served on the Riverfest Committee and the Hudson Day Committee. It was a pleasure to work hand in hand with such a great group of people from both committees . The children?s face painting and the children?s boat making was a blast. I hope the kids that made the boats do not forget the parade for the 4th of July. If you did not have a chance to make a boat you can still make one and get into the parade!!
And Thank you Bill , Pete, Kathy and Jeff for pulling thru and serving food on Sunday. I have heard so many compliments on the food. GREAT JOB!!
