The polls open at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, September 18, for people to vote in the primary election for a new Cornwall town supervisor.
In Cornwall, two Republicans, Helen Bunt and Kevin Quigley, are running to be that’s party’s candidate for Cornwall Town Supervisor. Quigley wonthe endorsement of the local Republican committee back in June. (Read more about candidate Quigleyhere. Candidate Bunt spoke about her views on election eve here.) Three candidates are also vying for two seats on the County Republic Commission.
The Democratic party is not running any candidates in Tuesday primary and a Democrat may only enter the race for town supervisor at this point by mounting a write-in campaign. Current town supervisor and Democrat Richard Randazzo announced earlier this year that he would not run for re-election to the position.
Voting for the County Republic Commission members from Cornwall will take place at the COVAC building at One Clinton Street. It’s the only place you will find the three candidates for commission seats on the ballot. The three Republicans running for two seats are John Hussey, Thomas Kreider, James Wiley.
