General News: St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital Combats Strokes

If you are concerned that you or someone you know is suffering the symptoms of a stroke, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital offers enhanced services for treatment.
Since 2005, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital has been building up its facilities and programs for treating stroke patients and for preventing future cases.
The hospital offers patients a combination of advanced diagnostic tools and clinical expertise that has won a Silver Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart and American Stroke Associations (AHA/ASA), one of 173 hospitals nationwide to receive this honor.
Part of this program is educational, a push to get the public aware of the warning signs of stroke.
Symptoms of stroke include:
∑ Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg.
∑ Sudden confusion or trouble speaking or understanding.
∑ Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
∑ Sudden trouble walking, or loss of balance or coordination.
∑ Severe headache with no known cause.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, call 911.
