General News: Local Musicians Play at The Chance

Three Cornwall teens are in a rock band that will play at The Chance in Poughkeepsie this weekend.
Local ambient/experimental/rock band Two Sided Story (formerly Basement Circus) will bring their tunes to The Chance on Sunday, November 23, at 5 p.m. with Sacramento-based Dance Gavin Dance.
Two Sided Story is made up of five dedicated young musicians from the Hudson Valley: Shane Ward (lead guitar), Whitney Schuster (rhythm guitar/backup vocals), and Chandler Hunt (bassist/backup vocals) all of Cornwall, along with Chris Dunn (lead vocals) of Walden and Nick Creary-Scher (drums) of Warwick.
The band recently recorded two singles, an original entitled “Blinding Lights Above,” and a unique rendition of “I Kissed A Girl,” both of which can be heard at www.myspace.com/twosidedstoryband. The two songs will be featured at the show, along with some other favorites among the band’s fans and a few new songs. In addition, a limited number of demo CDs will be available, along with tee shirts and other merchandise.
“We are really excited and honored to be playing at The Chance alongside a band as awesome as Dance Gavin Dance,” said Chandler Hunt. “We all really admire those guys as musicians and are thrilled that we’ll not only get to listen to them live, but to meet them, too. Plus there will be some other great bands playing that night that we look forward to hearing.”
After their performance at The Chance, Two Sided Story plans to spend a couple of months in the studio recording songs for an extended-play CD that they expect to release in the spring.
Dance Gavin Dance is performing at The Chance as part of a nationwide tour to promote its recent self-titled album. Cuts from the new album include “Alex English,” “Buffalo,” and “Me and Zoloft Get Along Just Fine.” Other bands that will be playing on Sunday include Foxy Shazam, which is touring with Dance Gavin Dance, Disarae, and Gabriel.
