General News: Five Youths Become Eagle Scouts

Cornwall Boy Scout Troop 118 has five new Eagle Scouts who were honored on Sunday at a ceremony at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. The scouts are Jamine Coley, Adam Goldfrank-Cariot, William Lyons, Christopher Reimer and Robert Terwilliger.
The Eagle Scout Court of Honor also welcomed local elected officials including assemblywoman Nancy Calhoun, County Legislators Alan Seidman and Chris Eachus, Town of Cornwall Supervisor Richard Randazzo and Village of Cornwall on Hudson Mayor Joe Gross.
The Eagle Scouts were praised for their efforts, which include earning a total of 21 merit badges. Additionally, while a Life Scout, the Eagle Candidate must plan and provide leadership to others in a service project helpful to any organization outside of scouting.
Jamine is the son of the Debbie and Chris Vriesma of New Windsor. Jay is a junior at Washingtonville High School. He has served Troop 118 as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and is currently a Scribe. For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Jay repainted the gym in the Fellowship Hall of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
Adam is the son of Michelle Goldfrank and James Cariot of Cornwall-on-Hudson. He is a junior at Cornwall Central High School. Adam has served Troop 118 as an Assistant Patrol Leader and Patrol Leader. Adam is currently an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Adam prepared and re-tarred the roof of the storage shed at the Quaker Meeting House in Cornwall.
Billy is the son of Cindy and Bill Lyons of Cornwall. He is a junior at Cornwall Central High School. Billy has served Troop 118 as an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. Billy is currently a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. For his Eagle Project, Billy re-stained the exterior of the Bethlehem Church Barn.
Chris is the son of Sonya and Gilles Reimer of Salisbury Mills. He is a sophomore at Washingtonville High School. Chris has served Troop 118 as a Den Chief, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and Scribe. Chris is currently an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. For his Eagle Project, Chris rehabilitated the Veteran's Memorial in the hamlet of Salisbury Mills.
Rob is the son of Maureen and Dave Terwilliger of Cornwall-on-Hudson. He is a junior at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. Rob has served Troop 118 as a Den Chief, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Instructor and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. Rob is currently a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Robert, did repairs and renovations

If people knew how hard these young men worked to achieve this rank the story would have been on page three of our Cornwall Local and not buried in the back sports section. Thank you for putting them up front where they belong. I know that their families are bursting with pride and joy at their accomplishments. Bravo! guys, Bravo!
