General News: All Star Game Results

July 2
Cornwall-12  Maybrook-3
Cornwall took a 4-1 lead in the first inning over Maybrook in Montgomery.  Kaitlin Hogan was on the mound.  Stephanie Staudle walked and was the first to cross the plate on errors.  Sami Krause scored on a sacrifice by Alyssa Quartuccio.  Samantha Catalanotto and Ally Incantalupo both knocked in runners on doubles in the first inning.  Maybrook scored a run on a triple to begin the second inning. Megan Staudle scored three runs on her HR in the second inning to bring the score to 7-2. Maybrook answered with their final run of the game in the top of the third.  Kaitlin Hogan scored Samantha Catalanotto with a single to make it 8-3.  Cornwall scored four more runs in the fourth Emily Darcy and Samantha Catalanotto's bats and Kaitlin Hogan drove in 2.  Mikayla Bittner snagged a line drive passed second in the top of the 5th and held the runner at second and Alyssa Quartuccio made a great catch in the top of the 6th.

July 5
Cornwall-6, New Windsor-2
Emily Casey started on the mound and pitched 4 innings.  Sami Krause finished the game pitching 3 innings striking out 4.  Stephanie Staudle started the game with a single and was scored on Megan Staudle's triple.  Samantha Catalanotto drove in Megan Staudle with a double.  Emily Darcy singled, both were left stranded in the bottom of the first with Cornwall ahead 2-0.  Cornwall scored two in the bottom of the third, Sami Krause singled, Alyssa Quartuccio walked and Megan Staudle drove in Sami Krause.  Samantha Catalanotto sent Alyssa Quartuccio home on her single advanced to second and Megan Staudle was thrown out at the plate.  Emily Casey sent in the fifth run of the game with a single in the bottom of the fourth and Megan Staudle crossed the plate on Samantha Catalanotto's sacrifice to center in the fifth. New Windsor scored on an error and RBI in the top of the 6th.

The Senior girls will play for the District 19 Championship, Tuesday 7/8 in Pine Bush at 6:30pm.


OTHER SATURDAY GAME RESULTS

Major Girls Softball

Cornwall defeated Washingtonville 15-3 in a game played in Wallkill.

Winning pitcher Allison Scott had two hits and drove in four runs in the five-inning game.  Alex Jurgens scored three runs and Caroline Staudle and Tori Adolino each scored three times for Cornwall.


Junior Boys Baseball
Kedeem Octave had two hits and drove in three runs giving Cornwall the bracket A championship in a game in Chester.

Michael Trainor had three hits and drove in two runs for Cornwall.

The team faces will play again Tuesday against Monroe-American in Minisink.


Major Boys Baseball
Cornwall was defeated by Wallkill Area with a score of 15-2.  Cornwall faces Washingtonville on Monday, July 7, at 5:30 p.m. in Montgomery.
