Where the Murphy's flag once waved. |
June 04, 2008
How sad that some folks are so broken inside that they feel compelled to break the beauty around them. :-( I have a flag from 1959(?) with only 48 stars on it and it is a great source of pride and joy for me. Hopefully yours will turn up, intact.

I'm not positive, but isn't it politically incorrect to display a flag with less than 50 stars, unless it is a historical society flag?

Its not about displaying its all about the decline in values human beings have towards others. One should not care if a flag has one star or 1000 the fact here a theft was committed

Actually, according to my friend who knows a whole lot about a great many things, although new flags are adopted by the U.S., no flag is ever un-adopted, rescinded or otherwise declared null or void. So any official flag of the U.S., regardless of time period is acceptable for display. And as for 'political correctitude'- bug-humbar

Official United States flags are always considered living, active flags. From the Betsy Ross flag to the present 50-star flag, any flag that at some time was the currently active flag is still considered a living flag to be accorded all due respect.

Amen brutha, that means don't wear it and don't drape it across the hood of your car! Oh, if only we still taught Civics in high school...
