General News: Help for Hudson Valley Breast Cancer Patients
April 15, 2007
After reading the story here last Sunday about Arlene Roberts' efforts to help her sister, Julieann Faurot, combat breast cancer, Regina McGrade, a village resident and a director of the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, asked us to pass on the following information to others who may be facing breast cancer:
The Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, which serves eight counties in the lower Hudson valley, has chosen the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center Inc. as administrators of a significant Grant to assist women undergoing Breast Cancer treatment. The program is modeled as "Gap Grants" of up to $1,000 per applicant to cover gap expenses not covered by insurance, such as co-pays, prescriptions, treatment or for other expenses including rent, utilities, day care expenses, or pretty much any expense they may need assistance with.
To apply for a gap grant contact Regina McGrade, Director of Development for GHVFHC at 845-220-3152. Referral of an applicant does not imply transfer of medical care and there is absolutely no reciprocal obligation."
