Just before 7pm on Monday, April 2, Mayor-Elect Joe Gross, donning a tie and a smile, entered the Village Hall for his swearing-in as the new Mayor of Cornwall-on-Hudson. Well-wishers and supporters gathered in the lobby to greet Mr. Gross before filing into the board meeting room to take their seats for the ceremony.
Village Trustees Rudy Hahn and Peter Miller stood behind the dais, while Mayor-elect Gross and Trustees Mark Edsall and William Fogarty waited in the front of the room for their turn to take the oath of their respective offices.
Jeanne Mahoney, Village Clerk, administered the oath of office first to Mr. Gross. The standing room only crowd applauded the new Mayor enthusiastically and had a good chuckle when he was asked to attest to the fact that he was over 21!
Mr. Edsall and Mr. Fogarty were then sworn in as Village Trustees and the three took their places behind the dais where Mr. Gross called his first Village Board Meeting to order.
