General News: Duncan Avenue Water Main Repaired

The temperature hovered below freezing on Friday morning but the water was still flowing from a break in the water line under Duncan Avenue.
A crew from the water department dug up the street to be able to get to the break in the aging pipe, replaced it, then repaired the road surface.? It was a day-long project but relatively routine for the department. ?
A trickier water line break occurred earlier this month on a slope inside Black Rock Forest, says water department chief Bob June.? To make that repair, the water department brought in a backhoe that crept down the steep hillside through the trees and crews worked there all day.? That break stopped all water entering the treatment plant.
