The interior of the Storm King Theater will be thoroughly renovated

This year, 2008, may be the year when the Storm King Theater in Cornwall-on-Hudson is restored, if owner Ray Yannone wins approval for his plans.
Last week, Yannone filed an application with the village planning board and submitted plans for a renovated interior of the former movie house on the corner of Hudson Street and Idlewild Avenue.
Yannone says that he has a few people who are interested in doing the work to open and run a theater in the building once he gets approval for the project. He expects the plans for the renovation will be discussed at the planning board meeting on January 15.
The original Storm King Theater had 285 seats in a 2,720 foot square area. The interior was subdivided in an earlier renovation and the seating area reduced by some 30 percent. The proposed theater would also user the smaller area.
