General News: Cornwall Man Arrested on Weapons Charge

A dispute between neighbors on Highland Avenue led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man on weapons charges by Cornwall police on Friday night.
According to police chief Todd Hazard, police responded to a report of a man with a weapon allegedly menacing his neighbor. While enroute to the scene, officers saw the suspect vehicle on WIllow Lane and stopped it. The driver, Carlos Colon, of Cornwall, had a box of ammunition, a 357 Magnum handgun and a rifle in his possession, police said.
Colon was charged with 2nd and 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon - a misdemeanor and a felony -- and with menacing in the 2nd degree, a misdemeanor.
He was sent to Orange County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and will appear before Judge Thomson on December 27, 2007.
