General News: Ring's Pond Watercolors
December 16, 2007
By Gina Dianis
Ring's Pond in Cornwall is found in the center of town and enjoyed by all who visit. The gazebo overlooks the pond where ducks and geese swim and the surrounding mountains complete the picture. It is a great place to sit and draw.
This year, the Cornwall Middle School’s Fall Art Club participated in a walking field trip to Ring's Pond. With a sketchbook and pencil in hand, art students were ready to draw their individual interpretations of this piece of Cornwall history. Students sketched the gazebo and its surroundings for about 45 minutes on a beautiful, sunny October afternoon. Later, in the art studio, the sketches would be recreated into paintings in watercolor.
Rings Pond Watercolors by the Cornwall Middle School Fall Art Club will be on display at Munger Cottage through January 17.
Opening Reception: Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 2:45-3:30pm. All Are Welcome.
