General News: New Contract for Village Employees

At Monday’s board meeting, village attorney Howard Protter announced the settlement of a new contract with the Civil Service Employees Asssociation that represents 18 employees of the village’s department of public works and water department.
Protter told the village board that the new four-year agreement with the CSEA provides annual wage increases of 4% (retroactive to 2006), 3.75% in 2007, 3.5% in 2008, and 3.25% in 2009.
The agreement also replaces the Columbus Day holiday with a personal day, expands bereavement time and makes some minor adjustments in health insurance and compensatory time agreements.
