General News: Holiday Greens in the Village
November 21, 2007
A Christmas tradition is coming to the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson this year. The Cornwall Lions Club will be selling fresh wreathes and roping at the village square on the first three Saturdays of December, returning to Main Street in Cornwall for Sunday sales.
Julia McGuire appeared before the village’s board of trustees on Monday night to request permission to sell the holiday greens at the bandstand on Hudson Street. The board enthusiastically approved the proposal. This year, the Lions Club is selling table centerpieces and door swags at its sale.
The village board also confirmed that the village tree lighting will be held on the first Sunday of the month, December 2, at 5 p.m. The department of public works employees will be working with the Storm King Fire Engine Company #2 to decorate the tree with lights this year.
