General News: Fun & Education at the Public Library
September 27, 2007
Director Molly Robbins and her staff at The Cornwall Public Library have come up with two new special programs in October.
High school students are the targets for a presentation on Tuesday, October 9th at 7:00 p.m. by Cornwall resident and retired guidance counselor, Rosemary DiCesare. Ms. DiCesare will share her expertise with students and parents who are beginning the sometimes-daunting process of researching, selecting and applying to colleges. Ms. DiCesare’s presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.
On Sunday, October 14th at 2:00 p.m., the Cornwall Public Library will feature Cornwall resident, Abby Mayer, a professional French Horn player. Mr. Mayer will give a presentation on the history and development of brass instruments and will include demonstrations on the Alphorn, Shofar, present-day French Horn and others.
Abby Mayer has performed with several prestigious musical organizations including the National Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony and the USMA West Point Band.
Registration is required for both events. For more information about this and all other Cornwall Public Library October activities, contact the library at 534-8282 or visit their website at www.rcls.org/cor.
