More than 50 people crowded into the Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance hall Wednesday night to express their views on two proposed developments that could impact the local environment, particularly Moodna Creek.
Residents of Mailler Avenue and Ferguson Road turned out in large number to ask questions about the proposed Winding Creek development featuring 52 townhouses. Many are worried about the potential runoff from the development in an area that is already prone to flooding and they listened as the developers explained how an improved sewer and storm water system.
The developers of Cornwall Commons, a much larger project on the west side of 9W, running along Forge Hill Road, also faced questions about the environment impact of their project, a planned adult community.
The Town of Cornwall Planning Board will be receiving written public comments on the developments until July 19.
