Bridget Higgins, of Plum Point New Windsor NY, formally of Chestnut Ridge, NY entered into eternal rest on October 24, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.
The daughter of Thomas and Bridget Kieran, Bridget was born on January 4, 1937 in Crossmaglen, Northern. Ireland.
Bridget earned her BA in Psychology from Mercy College. Bridget was the Payroll Administrator for National Association of Accountants in Montvale, NJ. Upon retirement she moved to New Windsor and worked many years at Cornwall Public Library.
She was an active member of the New Windsor Senior Center and St. Josephs Church in New Windsor. Bridget was an exemplary mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was best known for her dedication and love of her family. She was an avid reader and she always looked forward to her annual trip back home to Ireland to visit her many family and friends. Family meant everything to Bridget and she will be sorely missed.
Bridget is survived by her son James and his wife Diane Higgins of Cornwall on Hudson NY, daughter Laura Bukowski and husband Bill of Chester NY, son Daniel and his wife Camie Higgins of Odessa FL, Son Gary and his wife Gina Higgins of Waldwick, NJ. She was a loving grandmother to Amanda, Billy, Neil, Jay, Elise, D.J., Dylan, Ellie and Kieran and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY . A Mass will be at 10:30 on Wednesday 10/29/14 at St. Josephs Church, 4 St. Joseph Place, New Windsor, NY 12553; Burial will follow the Mass at St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
