Vivian Smith Satterly, 86, died peacefully in her home after a long illness. Born in 1928 in Queens, New York, Vivian married G. William Satterly in 1949 and moved to Cornwall where she spent the remainder of her life. Vivian was an active member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and served as church Elder, Sunday School teacher, Youth Fellowship and Pioneers leader. She was also a Girl Scout and Brownie Scout leader. For the last several years she led an Adult Bible Study Group.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 65 years, George William; daughter Karen Staples and her husband Perry of Cornwall; daughter Faye Satterly of Virginia; son, Donald Satterly and his wife Sharon of Newburgh and grandchildren, Andy, Leah, Caroline, Eric, Stephanie, and Marc and great-grandchildren Karl, Erik, Madison, Quinn and Mylo. She is also survived by her brothers, Franklyn Smith and his wife Val of Long Island and Roger Smith and his wife Beverly of Florida along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Quigley Bros Funeral Home , 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson NY12520 on Thursday, July 24th from 6pm – 9pm. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Rt. 94 and Jackson Avenue on Friday, July 25th at 7pm.
