Mary "Betty" Soukup, of Longs, SC entered into eternal rest on June 22, 2014 at Longs SC. She was 89 years old.
The daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Speeder, Betty was born on May 8, 1925 in Cornwall NY.
Mary "Betty" Soukup graduated from Willow Ave. School in 1944. Betty was a Telephone operator for Cornwall-On-Hudson. She was one of the original Dispatchers for the Town of Cornwall Police Dept.
Mary "Betty" Soukup is survived by her children: Sharyn F. Van Duser, Thomas Soukup and his wife, Lucinda Raynor-Soukup and Kathleen Reilly and husband, John; grandchildren: Richard Tuttle, Amanda, Kayla and Cara Reilly, Cathy Newcomer, David Van Duser, Thomas and Jason Soukup, La-toya, Lamont and Jamel Raynor; great grandchildren: Brandon Harrison, Isabel and Mia Tuttle, Russell Leo Priest, Mikayla , Isabella, Destiny Raynor.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 29th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 30th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY.
