Obituaries: Peter R. Van Wygerden

Peter R. Van Wygerden of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2014 at New York, NY. He was 55 years old.
The son of Peter Van Wygerden and Ingrid Schonfeld, Peter was born on January 7, 1959 in Holland.
Mr. Van Wygerden earned his Bachelor's degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He was an MTA investigator with the Attorney General's Office in New York City. Peter was retired from the NYPD as a sergeant.
A family statement reads: "Peter was loving father and husband; he will be missed greatly.
Peter is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Paluccio Van Wygerden; his mother, Ingrid Van Wygerden of Staten Island NY; sons: Karl and Justin Van Wygerden; a daughter, Amilee Van Wygerden, all of Cornwall NY.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd and 4th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, May 4th at St. Mary's Church, 42 Goshen Ave., Washingtonville, NY; burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery in Washingtonville.
