Obituaries: Richard Adam Denega

March 21, 2014

Richard Adam Denega of Highland Mills, NY died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with pulmonary disease.

Richard was born in New York, New York on October 18, 1948 and attended Cardinal Hayes High School and The School of Visual Arts. He worked as a freelance photographer and Corrections Officer for the State of New York. He was a member of the Woodbury Community Association, a Formula 1 racing enthusiast, a history buff, and an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ann Denega of Highland Mills, NY; son, Erik Adam Denega; daughter-in-law, Michelle Denega; granddaughter, Leah Denega of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY; son, Mark Alexander Denega of Summit, NJ; son, Matthew Richard Denega of Highland Mills, NY; daughter, Danielle Marie Denega; son-in-law, Brian Kannry; granddaughter, Grace Kannry of Charlottesville, VA.

A Memorial Service with visitation will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.

Richard was a lifelong New York Rangers hockey fan; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Garden Of Dreams Foundation at 2 Penn Plaza, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10121 or www.gardenofdreamsfoundation.org.
