Marjorie E. Morgan, a retired clerk with Sears in Newburgh NY and a resident of Newburgh passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at home. She was 85.
Born in Newburgh NY on September 26, 1928, Marjorie was a daughter of William Kreig and Margaret Leonard Kreig.
Survivors include a son, William Hernandez and Gretchen of Santa Fe, NM; daughter, Michele Herrera and husband, Oscar of Newburgh NY; sister, Alice Belladone of Cornwall, NY; grandchildren: Morgan Herrera and Louis, Blake Herrera and Erin Hernandez; also several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Morgan in 1983; brothers: William and Thomas Kreig.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 21st Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 37 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St. in Cornwall-On-Hudson. Burial is to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall.
A family statement reads: "Marjorie was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to have luncheons, parties and loved to garden. Her favorite season was fall and favorite color, red;, loved music especially, Tony Bennett and her favorite song "Stardust". We would like to thank Suzanne and Michele Fornal and Dave Wilson for their love and kindness. Special thanks also go to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan.
