Obituaries: Brendan Seamus Clerkin

Brendan Seamus Clerkin, a resident of Newburgh, NY for eight years and life long resident of Cornwall, NY, passed away at home on Monday, January 20, 2014. He was 57 years old.
Brendan was born in Newburgh, NY on June 20, 1956, the son of Owen Clerkin and Sarah McGorman Clerkin. He was a Substance Abuse Counselor with Renwick Recovery in Newburgh, NY.
Survivors include his former wife, Shari E. Clerkin of Cornwall, NY; son, Ian Clerkin and daughters, Eileen and Allison Clerkin all of Cornwall, NY; sisters, Teresa Doogan and husband, Frank of New Windsor, NY, and Eileen Nolan and husband, Jerry of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Gene Clerkin and his wife, Donna of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Kevin Clerkin and his wife, Anne of Whitney Point, NY; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Also many extended family.
A family statement reads: "Brendan was a great, loving father and brother who's dry sense of humor will be greatly missed."
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwal-on-Hudson, NY 12520. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher's Inn at Graymoor, 21 Franciscan Way, Garrison, NY 10524.
