Obituaries: Thomas James Mc Mahon

Thomas James Mc Mahon, a 38 year resident of New Windsor, NY, died unexpectedly on January 7, 2014. He was 74 years of age. He was a retired supervisor for the New York State Department of Labor in New York City.
The son of Sarah Mc Laughlin Mc Mahon and Daniel F. Mc Mahon, he was born November 4, 1939, in the Bronx. He was a graduate of Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx and New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-on Hudson. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, and a five-term member of the New Windsor Ethics Committee.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joan Mc Mahon of New Windsor; his son, Thomas Mc Mahon of New Windsor; daughter, Elizabeth Wingfield and her husband, David of Cornwall-on-Hudson, and beloved grandchildren, Norah and Andrew.
He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel Mc Mahon and wife, Eleanor, Michael Mc Mahon and wife, Nancy, and his sisters: Honora Donovan, Joan Ward, and Mary Mc Mahon. He was predeceased by his brother, John Mc Mahon. He also leaves behind cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor, NY.
