Fred Morris Armitage of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, December 5, 2013. He was 81.
The son of the late Albert and Doris Brooks Armitage, he was born on April 30, 1932 in Cornwall, NY.
Fred was a 50 year member of Highland Engine Co. He was an avid sports fan who loved his Yankees. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be deeply missed. Fred loved his grandchildren more than anything.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Margaret, at home; sons: Brian Armitage and wife Anne; and Jeff Armitage and wife Susan; daughter-in-law Lilly Armitage; and grandchildren: Alex, Kristi, Chelsea, Jared and Briana. He was predeceased by his son Bruce Armitage, and by his brother Bruce Armitage.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 4-7pm at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Services will be held at 6:30pm during visitation. Interment is private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Fred’s memory be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
