Thomas E. Sullivan, of Mountainville, NY passed away November 10, 2013 in Englewood, NJ. He was 61 years old. Thomas was married to Joan Sullivan who survives him.
He was born February 5, 1952 in Oneonta, NY. Thomas was a Retired New York City Police Officer. He was a member of NYPD PBA, Emerald Society, Black Rock Fish and Game Club. He also served as a MP in the U.S. Army 1970.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Joan Sullivan; children, Justin Sullivan and his companion, Sandy Knowles of Northport, FL, Angela Kessler of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY and Michael J. Sullivan of Brooklyn, NY; brothers, William (Mike) Sullivan of Costa Rica, Richard Sullivan and his wife, Tomoko of Ewa Beach, HI; mother-in-law, Louise Costella of Mountainville, NY; brother-in-law, Peter Costella of Hartford, CT; son-in-law, Kurt Kessler; granddaughter and light of his life, Sadie Rayne Kessler; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins of whom Janet and Gary VanVoorhis were held very close to his heart.
He was predeceased by his infant son, Jason Thomas Sullivan; father, William Sullivan and mother, Jane D. Sullivan; brother, David Sullivan; and father-in-law, Raymond Costella.
Visitation will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.
Funeral Service will be at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-Hudson NY, Saturday, November 16 at 10 a.m.; burial at St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, NY to follow.
