Catherine B. Cronin, a resident of Cornwall, NY, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Newburgh, NY. She was 72 years old.
Daughter of the late Arthur J. Gildea and the late Bridget Heritty Gildea, she was born April 3, 1941 in Bronx, NY. Catherine was the widow of John T. Cronin who predeceased her in 2001. She was a retired Customer Service Representative with Ellenville National Bank, Monroe, NY and was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church of Washingtonville, NY.
Survivors include her sons: John M. Cronin and his wife, Corinne, of Newburgh, NY, Robert J. Cronin of Monroe, NY; her daughters: Eileen Pender and her husband, Edward, of Somers, NY, Kelly Froehlich and her husband, Michael, of Montgomery, NY; her brothers: Arthur Gildea and John Gildea, both of New Jersey; her sisters: Patricia Doyle and Irene Reynolds, both of Cornwall, NY; and her grandchildren: Michael J. Cronin and his wife, Ashley, Shaun Cronin, Kristopher Cronin and his fiancee, Lyndsay Mickolajczyk, Joseph Pender, Brooke Pender, and Katie, Taylor and Jack Froehlich.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, November 1st, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 2nd at St. Mary's Church, 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Washingtonville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
