James J. Seidell, a 34-year resident of the area, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at his home in Cornwall, NY. James was 85 years old. Son of the late Harry and Bridget Kennedy Seidell, he was born in New York City, NY on September 7, 1927. James was the widower of June C. Valentine Seidell.
James was a retired supervisor with American Brakeshoe Corp., Mahwah, NJ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II.
Survivors include his sons: Steven Seidell and his wife, Carolyn of Camden, ME, Daniel Seidell and his wife, Pam of Cornwall, NY; his grandchildren: Kristopher and his wife, Ji, Kerri, Cory and Makayla; his cousins: Lorraine Miele and Betty Colbath and brother and sister-in-law, Roland and June Valentine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 20th at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 515 Route 32, Highland Mills, NY. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY. Burial of Cremains, with full military honors, will take place at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
