Joan Marie Orr of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. She was the wife of Wesley F. Orr, who survives at home.
Daughter of Esther and John H. Wallace, she was born January 13, 1930 in Newburgh, NY. Joan was a Telephone operator with NY Telephone, a wife and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Orr; their two children, David and Alan Orr and his wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Christie and Kimberly; her sister-in-law, Dolores Calamari, and many nieces.
Joan was married to Wes Orr on July 2, 1961 and they were happily married for 52 years. Joan was an exemplary wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put family first, and the needs of her family before her own. She would also show kindness to anyone that needed help. Joan had several health problems over the years including a heart bypass, but her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She will be dearly missed by her family who love her and who relied on her for so much.
There will be no Public Visitation. The Funeral Service will be private. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.
