Pauline H. Wood, of Cornwall, NY, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 85 on November 6, 2012, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY.
She was born November 22, 1926 in New Windsor, NY to Mr. and Mrs. Florian Zamenick. Pauline was retired from American Felt and Filter of Newburgh, NY.
Survivors include her son, John R. Wood and wife, Pam of Cornwall, NY; daughter, Deborah R. Wood of Cornwall, NY; sister, Mary Connolly of New Windsor, NY; grandchildren: Craig R. Wood and his wife, Donna, Christine A. Sipko, Jessica R. Wood and Jenna R. Wood; great-grandchildren: Sage, William, Matthew, Jessica and Frankie. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frederick Zamenick and John Werner; sisters, Josephine Faitak and Lillian Dombroski.
A family statement: She enjoyed every moment spent with family and caring for her grandchildren. She loved to cook and will be remembered especially for her potato salad. Good times spent in Wildwood, Florida, and Myrtle Beach, vacationing with her family. She will be dearly missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
A special thanks goes to St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for all their care and kindness during her illness. Thank you to Dr. Reed, Dr. Patel and Dr. Portelli and their respective staffs.
There will be no public visitation at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520. Funeral Service and Burial will be private.
