Obituaries: Elena A. Brodmerkel

Elena A. Brodmerkel, of Cornwall N.Y., entered into rest on August 26, 2012 at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, N.Y. She was 66 years old.
Daughter of August Ribolini and Elena Paulantonio, she was born on July 26, 1945 in Yonkers, N.Y. Elena Brodmerkel was the owner of Cornwall Wine and Spirits in Cornwall, N.Y.
Survivors include her husband Kenneth l. Brodmerkel at home, son: Matthew Brodmerkel and his wife Doreen of Cornwall N.Y.; sisters: Elizabeth Zambuto, Ann Ribolini of Boston, MA and Diana Tambone of Newburgh N.Y.; grandchildren: Gillian and Zachary Brodmerkel and many nieces and nephews.
A family statement reads: “Elena was an accomplished amateur artist who delighted her family and friends with expressive and sometimes humorous depictions of their lives. Her art work was also featured in local gallery showings.”
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson. N.Y. 12520.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at St. Thomas of Canterbury church , 340 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY 12520. Burial to follow the Mass in St. Thomas Cemetery, Cornwall, N.Y.
