Frank H. Lent
Frank H. Lent
August 11, 2012

 Frank H. Lent, a lifelong resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into rest on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Campbell Hall Nursing Home. He was 90.

The son of the late Francis and Alma Lent, he was born on July 25, 1922 in Newburgh, NY.

One of his earliest jobs was with Central Hudson in the City of Newburgh as a shut off technician. He shared many funny stories with his family of situations he had encountered. He worked at the United States Military Academy at West Point as a fuel oil mechanic and retired from there after 30 years. He also worked at James F. Lulves Funeral Home for many years.

Frank was the oldest living volunteer fireman with 64 years at Storm King Engine Co. #2. He was also a part time constable at St. Thomas Church.

He met his wife of 67 years at Keevill’s Bus Garage in Cornwall-on-Hudson. She worked in the office and he drove the bus, and so the story of their lives together began.
Frank was a loving, caring father and husband, and a man of his word. Anyone who knew Frank knew him as a strong Irishman. One of his passions besides his family was his love of firearms. He was a dealer of firearms for over 50 years.

Survivors include his soulmate, his wife of 67 years, Irene; one son , Francis Jr.; four daughters, Mary, Susan, Kathleen and Irene; his beloved granddaughter, Megan;
grandchildren Kelly, Michael, Rob, Jennifer, Sharon and J.J.; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Campbell Hall Nursing Home for their special caring and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to Storm King Engine Co. #2, P.O. Box 333, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520
Arrangements are under the direction of James F. Lulves Funeral Home, (845) 534-2550. For directions or to send condolences please visit www.lulvesfuneralhome.com.
