Obituaries: Bernice (Walraven) Mattason

Bernice (Walraven) Mattason, of Montgomery N.Y., formerly of Cornwall, N.Y. entered into rest on August 6, 2012 at the Montgomery Nursing home of Montgomery, N.Y. She was 97.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse House, she was born in Curryville, GA. on February 17, 1915. Mrs. Mattason was an RN with St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh, N.Y.
She is predeceased by her late first husband Thomas P. Walraven and second husband Lynn Mattason.
Survivors include her children: Faye Smith and her husband Lawrence, Thomas Walraven and his wife Nia, Joyce Eikenberg and her husband Richard and Richard Walraven and his predeceased wife Nancy and grandchildren: David , Jeffrey Walraven, Karen Tucker, Douglas Smith, Jennifer McCarron , Amy Beam, Andrianna, Kristina, Michael and Tommy Walraven
She was a member of Cornwall Baptist Church of Cornwall, N.Y. and a graduate of St. Lukes School of Nursing.
A family statement reads: “The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of the North Wing at the Montgomery Nursing Home. Your compassion, hard work and most importantly your love will always be remembered.......say hello B!”
Visitation will be private at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson. N.Y. 12520. Funeral Service is to be held on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 10 am at the Cornwall Baptist Church, 213 Main St. Cornwall, N.Y. 12518. Burial is to follow in the Cornwall Baptist Cemetery, Cornwall, N.Y. 12518.
