Joan Elizabeth Vatter of Cornwall-on-Hudson entered into rest on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her home. She was 81.
The daughter of George Anderson and Elizabeth Murphy she was born on March 11, 1931 in the Bronx, N.Y.
Joan was a retired Insurance Agent with Warren M. Gildersleeve Inc. She was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.
Survivors include her husband Frank J. Vatter at home; sons Michael Vatter and his wife Roselle of Newburgh N.Y., Douglas Vatter and his wife Margaret of Cornwall-on-Hudson N.Y. , Robert Vatter and his wife Maggie of Barrington R.I.; sister: Rose Konchan of A.Z.; grandchildren Andrew, Katharine and Thomas Vatter. Also Emily, Colin, Drew, Gillian and Graham Vatter. She was predeceased by her daughter Karen Elizabeth Vatter and her brothers; Edward and George Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Monday August 6, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. 12520.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. 12520.
Burial to follow in the Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills, N.Y.
Contributions can be made in Joan’s name to Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, 195 Hudson Street Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. 12520.
