Thomas G. Moran, 53, a resident of Cornwall NY for 20 yrs. died on July 22, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was a retired BCI Investigator with the New York State Police for 32 yrs. He was born on July 31, 1958 in the Bronx NY. During the latter half of his career Tom was assigned to the elite New York Drug Enforcement Task Force, where he investigated the Medellin, Cali, and Mexican drug cartels. Tom possessed the rare combination of courage and strength coupled with great kindness, humility and generosity.
He is survived by his mother, Pat Fagan Moran; his wife, Sharon D. Moran at home, his sons: Sean, Ryan and Matthew Moran all at home; brothers: James B. Moran and wife Francine of Basking Ridge NJ and Michael Moran of Monroe NY; brother-in-Laws, Marcus O'Neill of Syracuse NY, James O'Neill of New City NY and Bob O'Neill of Chester NY. He was predeceased by his father Thomas G. Moran Sr. and his brother-in-law Kevin T. O'Neill.
He was a member of the Black Bear Hunting Camp, Albertus Magnus HS Falcon Spiked Shoe Club. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9PM Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520. There will be a 10AM Mass on Friday, 7/27/12 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. Arrangements are by Kevin Quigley of Quigley Bros.
