Blanche V. Moore December 2, 1924 - July 15, 2012 New Windsor, NY Blanche V. Moore, a 15 year resident of New Windsor, formerly from Spring Valley, entered into rest Monday, July 16, 2012 after a year-long illness. She was 87 years old.
Blanche was born on December 2, 1924, in Suffern, NY, to Andrew and Marie Blanch Steinbach. While raising her four sons in Spring Valley, Blanche worked as a hairdresser and then as a deputy village clerk in Spring Valley for 25 years. After retirement, Blanche continued to stay active with the Senior Dining Programs in New Windsor and at Munger Cottage in Cornwall. She was elected secretary for the Cornwall Golden Age Club. She also enjoyed many “vacations” with her husband in their Florida home. Blanche was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married her childhood sweetheart, Charles J. Moore, at the age of 16 in 1941 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage until Charles' passing in 2000. Together they had four sons, thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, in addition to many precious nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her children: Charles and his wife, Raelynn of Cornwall-on-Hudson, Jonathan and his wife, Arlene of Medford, NJ, Peter and his wife, Lynne of Fairport, NY, and Paul and his wife, Deborah of Pearl River, NY; grandchildren: Dana, Carlie, Jimmy, Justin, Darren, Andrew and his wife, Cori, Alissa and her husband, Louis Hauck, Natalie and her husband Ted Long, Jessica, Emily and her husband Derek Hunter, Paul, and Kathryn. She was predeceased by her grandson, Joey. Blanche also enjoyed seven great-grandchildren: Devin, Dylan, Orion, Ozzy, Jacob, Samuel and Ryleigh. She also leaves behind many friends and family. Blanche will be fondly remembered for the many beautiful afghans she crocheted for all her family members and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, July 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY 12520 ., with a funeral mass being offered on Friday, July 20 at 10AM Friday 7/20/12 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY , followed by a burial service at St. Anthony's in Nanuet, NY. Any memorial contributions may be made in Blanche's memory to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan , 800 Stonybrook Ct. Newburgh NY 12550
