Rose Marie Smith, 88, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, found comfort in the arms of angels on Saturday, August 11,2007 at Elant of Fishkill.
She was born on May 13, 1919, in New York City. Rose Marie was the daughter of the late Marie and Pasquale Santacroce of Newburgh, NY. She was the loving wife of Harry Charles Smith who predeceased her in 1987 and the loving mother of daughter Melodie Ann Smith who predeceased her in 1984.
Rose Marie is survived by her daughters Marie-Elise Pearson and husband William of Cornwall, Nancy Morano and husband Dennis of Wappingers Falls, grandchildren Jennifer Kaden and Scott Pearson, and great-grandchildren Bradley and Brett Kaden.
Rose Marie worked at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School as a cashier for 24 years. She was also a member of the New York Telephone Company Pioneers, Newburgh Retired Teachers and the Cornwall Golden Age. She helped to start the Cornwall Hospital Thrift Shop and was a volunteer for over forty years.
Rose Marie touched many lives in a very special way. Her kind heart and caring ways will be remembered always.
Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff and residents at Elant of Fishkill. Rose Marie cherished them all.
Funeral services were held at the Cornwall United Methodist Church, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor.
