View from the river, 1846 |
People have been sending in postcards of Cornwall, Cornwall-on-Hudson, and Cornwall Landing that they have found online. Most depict the area 100 years or more ago. The most recent is from 1947.
Here now, for all to view is the assemblage. The oldest one, submitted by Frank Ostrander, is a drawing, really, made by William Wade from his Panorama of the Hudson River, 1846.
The rest of the postcards, in no particular order, show how the village square looked in days gone by and the riverfront when it was still industrialized.
