Obituaries: Constance Mary Triolo

June 23, 2011

Constance Mary Triolo of New Windsor, NY, a former resident of Cornwall, NY for over sixty years passed away on Monday, June 20th, 2011. She was born to Reo and Mary Ellen Ryan in New York City, NY on February 17, 1918.

Connie grew up and attended school in New York City. She and her husband, Michael A. Triolo Sr., former town of Cornwall Police Chief, raised their four children in Flushing, NY until they decided to pursue their dreams of owning a business. In 1950, they opened Palomino Mike's Stonehouse Dude Ranch in Cornwall, NY. They owned and operated the ranch for years until the land was taken by eminent domain for the New York State Thruway. They continued to own and operate the restaurant at the ranch until it was converted to the family home. At that time they opened Triolo's Drive-In on Route 9w. After its closing, Connie went to work for the town of Cornwall where she served for over 40 years. She was most recently Deputy Town Clerk until she retired at the age of 90.

Survivors include her sister, Madeline Urell of Granada Hills, CA; her sons, Michael Triolo Jr. and his wife, Karen of Oceanside, CA, Robert Triolo and his wife, Pamela of Boulder City, NV; her daughters, Constance Burns Carmody of Naples, FL, Mary Cumberland of Fort Dix, NJ; grandchildren: Michael Triolo and his wife, Kristen, Thomas Triolo and his wife, Lesa, Kristina Triolo, Kate O'Brien and her husband, Jordan, Matthew Triolo, Ryan Triolo, James Burns and his wife, Helene, Thomas Burns and his wife, Sharon, Jon Burnz and his wife, Karen, Deborah Brola and her husband, Steve, Kevin Burns and his wife, Coleen, Brian Burns and his wife, Kathleen, Beth Cumberland, Connie Bunce and her husband, John, Dana Cumberland and her husband, Mike, Tara Cumberland and her fiance, Anthony; 29 great grandchildren with number 30 expected in August, 2011 and many beloved friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of over 50 years, Michael A. Triolo, Sr., her brothers: Tommy, Roy, Leon, Clifford, Reo, Theodore, Ryan, and her sister, Dorothea.

Connie led a very full and active life and always did things her own way. She lived by herself and worked until an unexpected illness forced her to stop at the age of 90. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She will be missed but we will always remember her zest for life and how she made us laugh.

The family would like to thank the staff at The New Windsor Country Inn for the care and compassion they have shown for the passed three years.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the charity of choice.

Visitation will be Friday, June 24, from 1-3 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Kevin Quigley of Quigley Bros. Funeral Home. To send condolences or directions to the funeral home please go to: www.quigleybros.com
